NLP can be defined as a set of rules and techniques, which can help, modify behavior and help achieve self-improvement, self-management and more effective interpersonal communications. It is based on certain assumptions about how language and movements of eyes and body affect brain functions and was developed by Richard Bandler and John Grinder in the 1970’s.
It is aimed at enhancing the healing process by changing the conscious and subconscious beliefs of clients about themselves. These limiting beliefs are in essence reprogrammed to a more positive state using a variety of processes and techniques.
NLP is extremely useful for phobias and has a range of techniques to anchor positive states, build self-esteem and confidence One of the presuppositions of NLP is that “you have all the resources you need” – resources being the internal responses and external behaviours needed to get a desired response.
At Mind Calm we use a blend of all therapies (NLP, CBT, and Hypnotherapy) to help our clients bring about the change they want to see.
